The Turkish athlete Bediha Tacyildiz has shown impressive progress in two years becoming the 2019 most decorated athlete in IFMA biggest tournaments.

Bediha showed presence and checked the ground in Mexico with her bronze medal giving a very tough fight to no other than Anastasia Nepianidi. A very close decision for the referees with 2:1 as a result of three rounds. Next year Bediha went full of determination for a rematch and getting first in her 67 kg division. One aim was achieved another not. Bediha became world champion but a very sad injury for Anastasia Nepianidi prevented the rematch of these two amazing athletes postponing their rivalry to the next event.

Still, bright performance by Tacyildiz going through three fights without losing a fight got team Turkey long cherished gold medal of the World Championships.

Next stop was Minsk and Bediha was arriving there in a special status of the world champion and main favourite for the gold. The first fight was the repeater of the final from the World Championships and a chance for Emma Stonegard Abrahamsson (SWE) to equalize the score with the Bediha who was full of determination to have a double knock adding the European gold to her world achievement.

It was again Russian athletes which was on Bediha’s way in the final and this time Turkey was stronger. Bediha added the gold medal of the European Muaythai Championships which was the only gold for team Turkey in Minsk bringing it to the top 10 countries in Europe in 2019.Bright performance by Bediha Tacyildiz, still one box left to be checked with a bout against Anastasiya Nepianidi.
