The World Games: Weight Divisions Featured in USA

World Games has officially released the sports programme with muaythai equalising the number of male and female divisions comparing to 2017 edition.

Women 48, 51, 54, 57, 60, 63.5 kg

Men 57, 63.5, 67, 71, 81, 91 kg

These have been the weight divisions confirmed for the USA Edition of the games and the qualificiation race has been extended one year due to the lockdown which made the organisers move the Games to 2022.

IFMA athletes have been chasing the events giving the qualificaion points with the Arafura Games 2019 being the only direct qualifier. Darwin has never seen such a concentration of the elite athletes who arrived to take chance and book a spot for Birmingham.

Igor Liubchenko tops the roster of the 63.5 kg and he may make history winning the gold medal in two consecutive World Games.

67 kg is a truly exciting division to watch with tense rivalry taking place among 4 athletes. Norbert Speth, Dzmitry Varatz, Sergey Kulyaba, Itai Gayer are ready to prove that they are the strongest and be on the top step of the podium in Birmingham.

Women's 57 kg became a very competitive division with Valeria Drozdova kicking Sofia Olofsson out from the European Championships 2019 in a super close fight.

In women’s division one of the notable rivalries is 63.5 where Nili Block was last time defeated by the Russian superstan Svetlana Vinnikova. Nili will definitely want to rematch in the event under the World Games flag.
